Beauty of form in the patterns of sand and rock deposits |
London Bridge at Portsea |
We don't often get the opportunity to have a weekend away. That's why it seems fitting to record, with pictures and a few notes, our visit to the Mornington Peninsula this weekend. We had no particular plans, so after a late start we went out and walked along the beach. The weather was mild - the beaches were almost deserted.
This picture was taken from the sand dunes along the ocean beach at Sorrento. On the horizon you can just see Melbourne. |
We climbed many stairs at Point Nepean |
We visited historic sites |
The historic buildings of the quarantine station |
Beautiful coastal wilderness - Bass Strait to the Right, and Port Phillip Bay to the Left. |
The horizon is really horizontal - the camera was not! But, Noel worked out how to use the timer on the camera. |
